High Wycombe Rotarians have donated more than £45,000 to charity in the last twelve months after a series of high-profile fundraising events.
Having announced Wycombe Rotary Club member Mike Child as their new president for the year, the group hope to raise thousands more with an aim of getting more volunteers to help in their effort.
This year the clubs fundraising efforts have been boosted by Dragon boat racing at Eton Dorney, working in partnership with the Round Table during a large firework event in Terriers and even bringing Santa to town on their homemade sleigh.
New High Wycombe rotary president, Mr Child, said: “I am keen to attract and recruit new members for both the lunch-time and evening sections of the club.
“Recently retired men and women or people with a service ethic, wishing to put something back into local community or overseas projects, would find this voluntary organisation an ideal vehicle for their efforts and enthusiasm.”
If you are interested in joining the club, email Mr Child on hwrotary@gmail.com or phone 01494 484108 or 07714 899219.
