A film-making duo have had their film selected out of thousands of hopefuls to premier at the British Urban Film Festival next month.
Tom Jolliffe, of Jollifes in Wooburn Green and Alex Lawson, from Maidenhead achieved the amateur film makers dream and will see their film featured on the big screen at the annual film festival in London on September 21.
The film, called ‘Out’, is described by Mr Jolliffe as a ‘Crime Drama’, parts of which were filmed in The Wooburns and Bourne End.
Mr Jolliffe, 33, who grew up in Marlow, said: “We were delighted. Only 33 get selected out of a couple of thousand so we were over the moon.”
After several separate production attempts fell through, the friends decided to collaborate their talents almost a year ago in a bid to achieve their dream.
He said: “If you want something done, you have to do it yourself. We both liked a Channel 4 show called Top Boy so based it on that. I wrote and produced it, and Alex co-produced and directed.”
The pair will be waiting to hear back from various other festivals they have submitted their film to throughout the autumn.
