A man was threatened with a Swiss Army knife at a busy bus stop in Cressex, yesterday.

UPDATE: police arrest 29-year-old man in connection with incident.

An elderly couple and children were among those sat at the bus stop in Holmers Farm Way when a man approached the 25-year-old victim, threatened and swung at him, in what police believe was a “targeted attack”.

The incident happened at about 1.35pm yesterday and the man was left distressed but uninjured.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward in a bid to catch the offender who walked away from the scene following the altercation.

Investigating officer PC Alex Trevivian, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “Officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

“It is not believed to be a random incident – and it is thought the victim was specifically targeted by the offender.

“At the time of the incident there was an elderly couple sitting next to the victim, along with other people and children at the bus stop.

“I would like to speak to these people as it is likely they witnessed the incident and may have information which could assist our enquiries.

“Although the victim was not injured, the incident was distressing for him and may have also been distressing for other members of the public waiting at the bus stop.”

The offender is described as white, approximately 6ft 2ins, stocky, aged in his late twenties, with a bald head.

Before the incident the offender got out of a white van which had red and blue lettering on its side, police say.
