A family fun day in aid of charity will take place in Penn Street this weekend.

Jessica Bailey and James Richardson have organised the fun day at The Squirrel pub, where they both work, to raise funds before they take on the London Marathon next year.

The pair are training for their first ever race, which they will run in aid of Headway and British Blind Sport.

Jessica is raising money for the brain injury charity after her grandmother passed away of a head injury.

The fun day on Saturday, September 5, will feature a kids zone with bouncy castle, face painting and arts and crafts as well as a barbecue, tuck shop and live music.

There will also be an auction of skills, with some offering their ironing talents, a car valeting session or sport training.

Jessica’s mum, Sue Bailey, said: “People have been amazing and have really got behind us.

“Jessie is raising money for a cause that is close to her heart. Hopefully it will be a fantastic day and we can raise lots of money.”
