The Roald Dahl Museum will celebrate the acclaimed author’s 99th birthday with a day of special events next weekend.

The museum in High Street, Great Missenden, is planning a jam-packed day of activities to mark what would have been the children’s author’s 99th birthday on September 13.

Visitors can discover facts about the author and the books he penned during writing hut talks, archive tours and village trails.

There will also be plenty of magic, balloon modelling and storytelling as well as hilarious performances of ten books in ten minutes.

Dahl fans who dress up as one of his well-known characters could be in with the chance to win a prize.

Roald Dahl was born on September 13 1916 in Llandaff, Cardiff.

Great Missenden was home to the award-winning storyteller for 36 years until his death in 1990, after moving there from Manhattan in 1954.
