I FELT compelled to respond to P Woodward's letter regarding the rail link that so many people are rooting for.

As a resident of Wycombe Lane in Wooburn Green, I know I am not the only one who would back this proposal. Whilst it may be difficult to get around some obstacles like no bridges and extended gardens, there must be a way around it to have The High Wycombe Society to keep appealing for the services to be reinstated.

We are currently fighting against the appeal of Henry Homes to build on the old railway track at the back of our gardens, and the vast majority of the residents would much rather have a light rail there than a large estate of houses and apartments that are on top of each other with the top floors looking directly into our houses and gardens. I am sure that if P Woodward had developers proposing to build at the back of his property, he would jump up to support the light rail too.

This person has obviously not tried to cross the extremely busy road of Wycombe Lane at 8.30am with a two-year-old child, trying to get to pre-school. It is a very risky and dangerous task to do, and fear for my children's lives whenever we get close to the road. This is because Wooburn Green has got to saturation levels on the roads due to more industrial estates and half of Buckinghamshire using it as a way to get to Maidenhead instead of facing the Marlow Bypass which always seems to have a traffic jam on it.

So, P Woodward, please do not think that you know an entire population's view on this matter.

It may be your opinion, but it is not a lot of other people's opinions. Just thank your lucky stars you don't have developers wanting to destroy your privacy and security.

A train rolling past occasionally would be far better than everyone watching my family playing in the, now, very private gardens we so love.
