Hundreds of Women’s Institute members were given an autumnal treat as they joined together at a jam-packed High Wycombe Town Hall event last week.
About 370 members attended the penultimate Buckinghamshire Federation of Women’s Institutes event of the year, with two guest speakers leading the meeting.
Author Julie Summers was invited to the event to speak about her book which has recently been adapted into a television series.
“Jambusters: The Story of the Women's Institute in the Second World War” has previously featured on ITV and Ms Summers talked with audience members about the inspiration behind it.
The group’s second speaker on the day was a third generation farmer who offered an insight into his trade and home life.
BFWI will finish their centenary commemorative year with a vintage tea day in November.
The event at Kings Church, in Raans Road, Amersham, will run from 2pm to 4pm on Monday, November 30.
