A pet owner’s search for his missing parrot has received support from hundreds of residents as they bid to help him find the missing bird.

High Wycombe man, Peter Cusick, has paid for adverts and shared information about the hunt on social media websites, after Charlie the parrot disappeared almost three weeks ago.

The upset owner is due to travel abroad at the end of the week ahead of five months away from the UK, but he is now running out of time in his aim of finding the flying explorer.

Mr Cusick said: “Charlie and I are due to go to Portugal on Sunday, Nov 1, 2015, for five months and Charlie needs to be at the vets by the latest Wednesday, October 28, so all help is required to catch him.”

There have been sightings near Highcrest Academy, in Hatters Lane, and Colne Road heading towards Kingswood.

Due to social media activity and work with the RSPCA a missing Cockatoo was found as they searched for the parrot, but friends and family are still continuing to look for Charlie.

Mr Cusick describes the bird, who is microchipped, as “friendly”.

He is offering a reward of £100 for his safe return.
