An elderly man has been taken to hospital after he was struck by train in the Gerrards Cross area this afternoon. 

British Transport Police confirmed they were called to the scene at 1.36pm this afternoon after receiving reports that a person had been hit by a train. 

They attended along with Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service. 

It is has now been confirmed that an elderly man was taken to hospital with injuries which were understood not to be life-threatening. 

A spokesman British Transport Police said the incident is not being treated as suspicious. 

There were no trains running in or out of Marylebone via High Wycombe, but all lines have now reopened.
