A stretch of roadworks which caused considerable disruption for motorists travelling in the centre of High Wycombe has now finished.
Angry drivers have been voicing their annoyance at the long delays on Marlow Hill since the resurfacing work began earlier this month.
As well as having a section of the road blocked during the day, both carriageways were closed from 7pm to 6am.
Despite a finish date planned for next week, Transport for Buckinghamshire say engineers have completed the scheme early.
Spokesman Dan Elworthy said: “By careful planning and utilising additional resource, we were able to successfully complete work on Marlow Hill almost one week ahead of schedule on 14th November.
“We were aware that some traffic disruption was unavoidable however by adopting a collaborative approach working with Wycombe District Council, we ensured this was kept to a minimum and the work was completed before the Christmas light switch on.”
