Television star Pauline Quirke will be the special guest at a poignant Christmas memorial event in High Wycombe next month, with members of the public invited to join her for the commemoration.

The South Bucks Hospice ‘Light Up a Life’ gathering on Friday, December 11, allows people to light a candle in memory as well as a written dedication to be hung from a Christmas tree in remembrance of loved ones.

Hospice chief executive, Jo Woolf, said: “Once every year, we take some time out to gather with the families and friends of all those who have lost a loved one during the past few years.

“We come together to celebrate the lives of our loved ones, and to mourn their passing.

“If you have lost someone, we warmly invite you to join us on this special evening to light up a light in their memory.”

There is no admission fee but organisers have asked visitors to make a donation of for each star on the tree they would like to dedicate.

The event is being held from 5.30pm, at the hospice in Pusey House on Amersham Road.
