Chesham and Amersham MP Cheryl Gillan inspected plans for a £6 million development at a prep school in her constituency last week.

Cheryl Gillan visited Chesham Preparatory School on Friday, and spent the afternoon touring the school grounds meeting staff and pupils.

The school say they will submit proposals to Chiltern District Council this week for a new state of the art swimming pool, classrooms, and dining/performance hall - a combined investment of £6 million.

Cheryl Gillan MP added: "I had a great time visiting the school, meeting staff and pupils at my visit last week.

"The school has excellent teaching and sporting opportunities, which will be enhanced by the school’s investment in new facilities."

Mike Davies, Head teacher at Chesham Preparatory School said: "We are excited and confident about our future plans for new school facilities, and we were delighted to show Cheryl the proposals.

"The visit has been an exciting opportunity for the pupils to meet their Member of Parliament and ask her questions about her role. The pupils were excited about welcoming such a prestigious visitor to the school.

"We look forward to being in a position to provide these new facilities for our pupils as well as exploring the opportunity of opening up the facilities to nearby schools."

The school is also planning the creation of two new vehicle entrances and up to 55 new car parking spaces within the existing grounds.
