Flackwell Heath will be getting into the festive spirit this weekend as the Christmas lights celebration begins.

Flackwell Heath Residents' Association and the Community Association are joining forces to create a Christmas spectacular on Saturday, November 28.

The community centre will be transformed into a winter wonderland as family festivities get underway at 3pm, with a tea party for primary school children.

After fuelling up, kids can visit Father Christmas in his grotto before heading outdoors at 4.30pm for a carol service in the Jubilee Garden.

The garden will be illuminated by torch light as Reverend Chris Bull, accompanied by the West Wycombe Brass Band, leads residents into some festive singing.

The village Christmas tree lights will be switched on by the winners of the schools colouring competition, signalling the start of the festive season.

After the big switch on, warm up inside the community centre with a mulled wine, juice and mince pies and enjoy the colouring competition displays.

Organisers are also calling on all the village businesses to get involved with the festive shop window competition to keep the Christmas cheer going throughout the holidays.
