Drivers are being invited to take a pit-stop at High Wycombe Fire Station this weekend as firefighters host a charity car wash with a twist.

With colder weather approaching, Bucks Fire and Rescue crews are hopeful they will be able to give out a number of safety tips to drivers while they wash cars for members of the public on Sunday afternoon.

The mayor of High Wycombe, councillor Mohammed Hanif, will also be attending with a group of volunteers to support the event and will be selling a number of fire service toys and gifts.

Event organisers say that the ‘Road Safety car wash’ is a great opportunity to visit the station and speak to firefighters about safe driving.

Some of the tips will include checking and cleaning all lights, tyre pressure, screen wash and fuel levels.

Each person who goes along to the event in St Mary Street from 12-4pm will also receive a free ice scraper.
