Families braved the cold last weekend and enjoyed a day out in the woods in Sandridge.
The Hertfordshire-based group, Wild Woodlanders, hosted an adventure day at Sandridge Scout Hut.
Children and their parents got the chance build wreaths and other festive items from natural forest materials.
Parents relaxed and kept warm with tea, coffee and homemade cakes at Bridie's cafe, whilst children learnt essential outdoor skills such as building a camp fire and cook using it.
Organiser Paula D’Souza said: "We hear of reports on how this generation of children are growing up glued to screens in doors and are becoming more inactive and less in touch with nature.
"Children have really got stuck in and enjoyed themselves. It has been wonderful seeing families spending quality time together outdoors.
"This event is designed to pave the way for many more activities and holiday camps to encourage the movement towards getting children up off the sofa, keeping active getting back in touch with the natural environment."
