Members of a club for people with disabilities have called for new people to join their weekly meetings.

Thames Valley PHAB is still ‘thriving’ since its establishment 30 years ago according to the treasurer, Chris Humphris, but his vision for the future is to welcome a wider age range of people.

The group, which meets every Wednesday in the Court Garden Café on Pound Lane, offers those with disabilities the chance to meet new people and provides them with a variety of opportunities.

The club hosts regular quiz nights as well as making the most of the PHAB minibus to go on day trips.

Mr Humphris said: “We just want to make people aware that there are no age restrictions on entry and it isn’t just a meeting place for those with disabilities – it’s for their families as well.

“Having a disability doesn’t just affect those with it – it affects carers too so we aim to provide help and support for everyone involved.”
