A girl from Amersham is on a quest to avoid a lonely Christmas by finding her toy sheep which she lost earlier this week.

The sheep, named Woolly, went missing on Sunday and is believed to be at large on either Amersham High Street or in High Wycombe’s Eden Street Shopping Centre.

Woolly’s 22-year-old owner Katie Parkinson is now putting out an appeal to the public to help trace her cuddly friend.

Ms Parkinson said: “She’s extremely precious and she comes everywhere with me.

“My mum got her for me when she went on a skiing trip and I fell in love with her. I’ve had her for 16 years.

“I am totally distraught to have lost her and I’m praying that somebody has picked her up and kept her safe - I’m desperate to get her home before Christmas.”

The sheep, who is around three inches tall with white curly fur and a red heart on the abdomen, went missing shortly after lunchtime.

The former Chesham Grammar School pupil, who now works for an insurance firm in Loudwater, spent this evening putting up lost posters, around 15 in total, on Amersham High Street.

Woolly, who is unusually well-travelled for his species, has been on holiday to Paris, Corsica, Bulgaria and Switzerland amongst a host of other destinations.

Ms Parkinson is offering a £50 reward for the safe return of Woolly.
