The Bucks County Museum is currently displaying some of the best contemporary photography in the world.

The exhibition, unequivocally titled PHOTOGRAPHY! The Work of the British Institute of Professional Photography, is showing some of the most inspirational and cutting-edge, contemporary film and photography work.

The images include portraits, landscapes, architecture, advertising and fine art, with displays varying from single pieces to installations and portfolio compilations.

Artists include commercial photographer Stuart Wood, who regularly works for the BBC, ITV, Radio Times and Grazia. Stuart provided the imagery for the recent ITV series Joanna Lumley’s Trans-Siberian Adventure and also produced the portraits of actress Sheridan Smith for the TV series Cilla.

Bella West, who is known for combining light and location to produce pictures that retain a strong classical edge and north London portrait photographer Saraya Cortavilke also feature.

As well as the exhibition, the museum will be hosting two events this month: A Photo Safari, on Saturday, February 13, which will take attendees around Aylesbury and the museum itself to create perfect portraiture.

The second, on Tuesday, March 1, will be a talk by Bryn Griffiths, winner of the product section of the Hasselblad Masters Awards in 2014. Bryn travelled to Chernobyl to create fine art images of post-nuclear deserted buildings for the Hasselblad Masters book.

The museum is also running a photography competition for all amateur photographers, with no specified subject. There are separate categories for ages 16 or under and for those over 16. The winner of each age group will receive a £50 Jessops voucher.
