Lunch at a popular restaurant in Beaconsfield turned to terror yesterday afternoon after a large chandelier fell on a group of diners who were enjoying their meals.
Claire Hurst, who was in Brasserie Blanc in London End yesterday afternoon when the “terrifying” incident happened, tweeted a picture of the fallen light fitting, which had scattered glass across the table.
South Central Ambulance Service sent an ambulance to the scene at 3.47pm after receiving reports that a 'large' chandelier had fallen onto a group of around nine or ten people.
Paramedics assessed a number of people at the restaurant but none were seriously injured and were treated for minor cuts and bruises.

An investigation into what caused the chandelier to fall has now been opened by the restaurant chain, which was created by celebrity chef Raymond Blanc.
Kathryn Coury from Brasserie Blanc said: “The health and safety of our guests is paramount. Our restaurants are designed and built to adhere to the strictest building regulations.
“We are thankful that nobody was seriously injured and are undertaking a thorough investigation into what might have caused the chandelier to fall.”
