The founder of High Wycombe's Jackie Palmer Stage School, which has taught the likes of James Corden and Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne, has died.

From dance to drama, Jackie Palmer has been one of the leading lights in nurturing talented youngsters to world stars.

Tributes have already started to pour in for Jackie, with many praising her for her work in the community.

The school was formed by Jackie and her daughter Marylyn in 1971, with hundreds of students learning from the pair and other instructors over the years.

In 2014, James Corden - who grew up in Hazlemere - returned to the school (pictured).

On the Jackie Palmer Stage School website, he said: “Jackie, Marylyn, Alex and Carmen were such a part of my life for such a long time, their influence on me is still as evident today as it was when I was ten years old.

“I used to love coming to the school so much, it was the single best part of my week. It was amazing, incredible and it means the world to me.”
