Passers by helped crews clear a tree which had fallen into a main road blocking traffic in both directions this afternoon.
High winds blew down the tree onto the A40 near Beaconsfield shortly after 12pm today.
Crews arrived on the scene at 1.54pm and less than 20 minutes later - with the help of four members of the public - the road was cleared.
Originally it was feared that the road could take a number of hours to clear if a tree surgeon was required.
Traffic was turned round at Beaconsfield Old Town and also at the Wyevale Garden Centre on the Wycombe side of the blockage.
It is not thought anyone was injured in the incident.
The Met Office issued warning this morning over high winds and gales sweeping the country ahead of icy conditions this weekend.
