A charity evening and recital in Flackwell Heath will raise money for refugees on the Greek island of Lesvos tomorrow evening.

Poetry, story, song and music from England, Ireland, Europe, Africa, America and the Middle East will feature during the fundraising evening at Christ Church Hall in Chapel Lane on Friday.

Anne Sheddick, the chair of governors at Carrington School, and harp teacher Paula Tait, have put the evening together in the efforts to give support and relief to refugees arriving on the island of Lesvos in Greece.

There will also be first-hand experiences from Greek islanders who are helping refugees there, as well as refreshments and a silent auction, with locally-sourced prizes including beer and merchandise from Rebellion Brewery and a spa day from the Quad Club in Marlow.

All proceeds will be going to Pikpa Mytilene Open Solidarity Refugee Camp, which cares for vulnerable refugees on Lesvos.

The evening starts at 7.15pm and finishes at 10.15pm. Tickets are £10 on the door or visit https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/travellers-all-an-evening-of-music-and-words-to-raise-money-for-refugees-on-lesvos-tickets-21352769709?ref=gh to buy online.
