Long delays waiting in line at the dump could be a thing of the past after the introduction of webcams which allow residents to check traffic.

Buckinghamshire County Council have introduced the cameras – which provide a live feed – as part of their strategy to make visits to recycling centres as simple as possible.

Warren Whyte, Cabinet Member for Planning & Environment, said: "Spring cleaning means it's a busy time for our household waste and recycling centres.

“I'd ask people to check our webcams before you visit to check how busy the centre is - and to find out on the website the correct way of disposing of different waste materials.”

The cameras are now in use at all sites except Bledlow. To view your local site visit www.buckscc.gov.uk/hwrc.
