Love was in the air today as a man took his plucky proposal to the sky in a bid to win the heart of a High Wycombe woman, only to come crashing back to earth after failing to get a “yes”.
The mystery man hired a professional pilot to fly above the town at about 11.30am today, making sure his very public proposal could be seen by all.
The aircraft was being flown by an AirAds pilot who told the Bucks Free Press ahead of the flight that all the past marriage proposals he had overseen had a 100 per cent success rate.
Onlookers watched on as the plane circled the Totteridge area of High Wycombe for about 10 minutes, with a long banner reading ‘Noo-Noo I love u will u marry me’.
Unfortunately, the BFP has since been told that the proposal – arranged by an anonymous man – sadly did not go to plan.
