Two Bucks companies are supporting the next generation of business leaders as part of a country-wide event.

Clarks of Amersham Removals & Storage and J Bennett & Son Insurance Brokers have joined forces to support the Young Enterprise scheme.

The Young Enterprise Bucks County Finals 2016 take place on the May 6 and is the culmination of 42 senior schools and over 800 pupils competing from south Bucks and the surrounding areas.

The scheme gives young people the opportunity to set up and run a real company for a year with guidance from a business volunteer and compete against schools and students across the country.

Peter Sutcliffe, managing director of J Bennett & Son and Chair for Young Enterprise in the Chilterns district, said: “We have recently had the Chilterns Finals and what a fantastic day it was.

“The calibre of those taking part was extraordinary and leaves me with enormous faith in the next generation.

“The top two teams Endeavour and Telos are going forward to the county finals in May and I wish them the best of luck.

“I’m always amazed by our Business Advisors who so willingly give up their personal time to share their business knowledge and encourage each team to be innovative and brave in their enterprises.”

Michael Clark, Managing Director of Clarks of Amersham, said: “We have been involved with the young enterprise scheme for a short time with one of our team volunteering as a Business Advisor in the Chiltern Area.

“But when the opportunity came along to sponsor the County Finals we jumped at the chance.

“It’s a fantastic scheme which enables the youngsters to become really engaged with the world of business and setting them up with the skills for work and life.”

Founded in 1962, the Young Enterprise charity work with 250,000 young people with the support of 5,000 volunteers and 3,500 business partners each year.
