Pupils from a school in Beaconsfield donned colourful onesies and fancy dress costumes for the annual fun run in the town on Friday.

Children from The Beaconsfield School wore an array of costumes, including a character from Angry Birds, superhero Wonder Woman, a cat and a group dressed as cheerleaders, for the 5km race around the Hall Barn Estate on Friday, April 29.

Year eight pupil Grace Hudson was the first female over the finish line with a time of 23 minutes, while the first boy was Alfie Jago, year ten, who crossed the line in 18 minutes 50 seconds.

Winning staff member Cecilie Gianneri pipped all the other teachers to the post with a time of 25 minutes and 52 seconds.

Town crier Dick Smith and mayor John Read were also on hand to congratulate the winners and present them with trophies.

The funds raised from this year’s race will go towards replacing the flooring in the main school hall at the site in Wattleton Road and staff are hoping to beat or equal last year’s amount of £2,300.
