An impressive winter of competition has seen Jordan Giles gain a spot in the British Youth summer sailing team.
The 17-year-old, who comes from Great Marlow, is currently juggling his commitments on the water with studying for his A Levels.
His winter campaign started with a sixth placed finish at the National Sailing Centre in Weymouth, before he came 10th at Stokes Bay in an event which saw him compete with Olympic hopefuls and current world champion Alison Young.
His success at these meets moved Giles up to fifth in the UK Youth Championships ahead of the all-important Youth National in North Wales.
Five days of competition saw Giles take part in 10 races. A second and third place finish were his best results throughout the competition and set him on his way to a sixth place overall stranding.
His performance has allowed him to join the summer team where he will train for the upcoming World and European Championships, which take place in Dublin and Estonia respectively.
