Lucky pupils from an Amersham school are set to meet the Queen at a special event today.

Students at at Heatherton House School will get to meet Her Majesty as she visits a school in Berkhamsted which is celebrating its 475th anniversary.

The independent girls’ school, which is part of the Berkhamsted Schools Group, prepared for the day by forming the letters ER in the playground.

Head teacher Debbie Isaachsen said: "Heatherton is thrilled to be a part of the Queen’s visit on 6th May, and we have been preparing the pupils with lots of special events and lessons about Queen Elizabeth II and her reign.

"This will be an exciting and historic occasion for the Berkhamsted Schools Group as it is the first time, as far as records show, that a reigning monarch has visited."
