Minister for Europe and MP for Aylesbury, David Lidington, will be speaking to Princes Risborough residents at a special event next week ahead of the European Union referendum.

The talk forms one of two events to be held about Brexit in the town over the next two weeks.

Mr Lidington will be speaking in favour of remaining in the EU on Friday May 27 at Elim Centre while Steve Bell, President of the Conservative National Convention, will be speaking on behalf of the Brexit campaign at the Princes Risborough Community Centre on Friday May 20.

The events’ organiser, Cllr Bill Bendyshe-Brown, said: “We have had many people in our area saying that they want to know what the real issues are in this forthcoming referendum.

“That is why we asked for the speakers on each side of the debate to come and give us some clarity on the arguments from both sides.

“I want to encourage everyone to come and attend these events which I am sure will be the hot topic of discussion up to and including referendum day and, most certainly, thereafter.”

Both speakers have been given the same questions to address in their talks, which will last around an hour and a half and take place at Princes Risborough Community Centre (May 20) and Elim Centre (May 27). Both will start at 7.30pm.
