Three men have been arrested after a gun was fired in the street in High Wycombe yesterday.

Police were called to West End Road just after 7.30pm on June 23 following reports that a gun had been fired and they arrested three men in connection with the incident.

Speaking last night, Det Insp Mark Baxter of Force CID, said: “I would reassure the local community that officers will be in the vicinity of West End Road conducting ongoing enquiries.

"We will be speaking to residents to understand what has happened here this evening, but I would like to stress that we believe that those involved are known to each other.

“If anyone has any information about the incident, or saw anything unusual in this part of High Wycombe today please contact police by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency.”

He also thanked residents for their “cooperation and patience” while police carried out a “thorough” investigation.

The three arrested men, two aged 24 and 28 from West Drayton, and one aged 22 from Uxbridge, have been released on police bail until July 27.
