Young gymnasts from a school in Gerrards Cross got to train with Olympic stars in America earlier this month.
Tara Sadleir and Isabel Whitburn, part of Maltman’s Green School’s U11 Gymnastics ‘A' Squad, set off across the pond on June 11 for a week of intensive training at the International Gymnastics Camp in Pennsylvania.
The girls, who both started gymnastics at the age of four, spent a week training for six hours a day with the likes of Svetlana Boguinskaya, three times Olympic Gold medallist, Nastia Liukin and Oksana Chusovitina, world and Olympic champion who is about to compete at Rio in her seventh Olympic games.
Despite working hard, the gymnasts got to take in the sights including the Statue of Liberty and paid their respects at the Ground Zero Memorial and Freedom Tower.
