Roadworks will cause traffic chaos at a busy main road junction for three months as part of a £100,000 project.

Four-way traffic lights will be in place at Hazlemere Crossroads throughout August to November, while Southern Electric Power Distribution complete underground work.

The roadworks are likely to cause huge traffic tailbacks along Holmer Green Road, Amersham Road and Penn Road.

However, the road will be remain open while engineers carry out the work, with access to businesses and homes open at all times.

The £100,000 project will see a new underground electricity cable installed to improve the reliability of energy supplies to people in Hazlemere.

The work will begin on August 5 and is due to be completed by November 5.

A Southern Electric Power Distribution spokesman said: “We would like to thank the local community and road-users for their patience and understanding as our teams go about their essential work.”
