Amersham colts rounded off their season in style as their under-13s comfortably beat Great Brickhill to be crowned county champions.

The success gave them their second league crown in the last three age group years and they dominated Brickhill from start to finish.

They batted first and Ryan Treadwell, Joe Weston, Archie Palmer and Luke Brown all made 30 before retiring to help Amersham to 171-1 from their 20 overs.

With such a commanding score on the board, victory was all but assured for Amersham and they carried their form with the bat onto the field.

A strong team effort saw them restrict Brickhill to 78-9 as Henry Ferneyhough, Ollie Ensor, Weston, Treadwell and Palmer all took wickets.

Treadwell added a personal accolade to his name as he dismissed a Brickhill batsman with his first delivery to become the leading wicket taker for the season.

The triumph caps a fine year for Amersham’s under-13s in which they have won a treble of league, cup and county cup while remaining unbeaten in the league.

It adds to further success at colts level for the club with the under-9s and under-12s winning their respective league’s after unbeaten seasons.

The under-10s just missed out on the title as they finished second after a campaign which saw eight-year-old Tommy Treadwell become the club’s youngest ever hat-trick taker.

Amersham’s under-19s also enjoyed a productive season after winning the ECB Bucks T20 competition, in what has been one of the club’s most impressive years for junior cricket.
