Eastenders legend Pam St Clement is set to open a charity event for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People this weekend.

The star, who played Pat Butcher in the soap from 1986 until 2012, will join celebrity vet Marc ‘the Vet’ Abraham at the Hearing Dogs’ annual Late Summer Show on Sunday (September 11).

Pam, who has been a keen supporter of the Saunderton-based charity for many years and is a regular at the event, will also take selfies with the public for the first time.

Marc will judge the county’s canines in the fun dog show.

Events manager Melanie Tyrer said: “We are so thrilled that Pam is joining us again this year to open our show, and incredibly excited that she is offering the opportunity for our supporters to have a selfie – get those phones at the ready.

“Marc the Vet has also been a supporter of ours for a long time, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him back to be our expert judge for our fun dog show.

“He does such a great job and we know he really enjoys getting to meet all your four-legged companions too.”

The Late Summer show at The Grange in Wycombe Road, Saunderton, promises to be a fun day out for all the family with lots on offer including a host of children’s activities, a classic car display, and craft and food stalls including a barbecue.

Visitors can also enter their pooches into the charity’s all-day dog show and meet lots of hearing dogs.

Last year, the event raised more than £16,000 for the charity.
