Paralympian Naomi Riches has completed her gruelling world record attempt to row the entire length of the River Thames.

Naomi, who brought back gold after London’s 2012 Paralympics, finished the 165-mile challenge well within the 50-hour target she set herself - crossing the line in 47 hours 59 minutes 54 seconds.

Crowds cheered her on on the banks of the Thames in Marlow as she stopped off in her hometown yesterday afternoon, after starting the Great Thames Row in Lechlade on September 17.

She finished at Gravesend Royal Pier on Monday afternoon in record time, but the attempt has yet to have been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records.

The rower took on the epic challenge in a bid to raise awareness and money for her patron charity IN-vision – a charity dedicated to researching eye condition Infantile Nystagmus, which she was diagnosed with at two months old.

So far, £25,218 has been raised by her supporters.
