A church in Marlow is launching new-look Sunday services in a bid to attract new members who have previously been "put off" going.

Marlow Methodist Church says it is taking a "fresh look" at the way it provides Sunday morning services.

Its first new-look service was performed by Burnham-based group Puppets 4 All, a last Sunday (September 18).

The Spittal Street church is calling the new movement 'freespirit' and hopes to offer modern music along with "interactive, thought-provoking worship."

Initially, the new-look services will be held on the third Sunday of the month.

Church minister, Rev Nick Thompson, said: “Families and young people want to worship God, but have been put off by what they see as old, out of date, worship.”

The launch was marked with the release of 50 white balloons in front of the 100 year old church, with labels attached giving blessings to those who receive them.
