A beloved family pet that was seriously injured in a fatal crash on the Marlow Bypass has sadly passed away.

Grieving friends of car crash victim Janice Swain, 43, who died on Monday, September 12, set about raising £7,000 to help treat her pet Peaches, who was badly injured in the same crash.

Despite beating their fundraising target to pay for her veterinary treatment, the albino boxer tragically died on Tuesday.

Jake Stenning, who set up the fundraising page said he was “gutted” that the pet had passed away, reportedly from a twisted stomach.

He said: “She never went anywhere without her mum who sadly died in the accident so it's great that she can be with her.”

Ms Swain, a former Great Marlow School pupil, grew up in Marlow but lived in High Wycombe.

Her 18-year-old daughter Georgia was also injured in the horror crash but miraculously survived.
