Chesham United made an emphatic return to winning ways in the Southern Premier Division on Saturday as they beat Cirencester Town 3-0.

Veteran striker Barry Hayles continued his fine run of recent form with a brace either side of Stephen Hamilton-Forbes’ strike.

It wasn’t all good news for Hamilton-Forbes, however, after he was sent off for a bad challenge late on.

The result ends a run of two league defeats in a row for Andy Leese’s side and leaves them eighth in the table ahead of a match against Cambridge City tomorrow.

Chalfont St Peter made it three defeats on the bounce in the Southern Central Division as Farnborough eased to a 2-0 win.

A poor challenge from Dave Thomas allowed Eddie Smith to give the visitors the lead from the spot in the 21st minute and Sam Shaban added a late second.

A clash with Hanwell Town tomorrow gives the Saints the chance to bounce back as they look to improve on their current ninth place standing.

In the same division Marlow maintained their unbeaten home record with a goalless draw against Potters Bar Town, while Beaconsfield SYCOB suffered a 2-1 defeat to Fleet Town.

The loss means SYCOB have taken just five points from their first eight league games this season and sit 21st in the table.

Cricklewood Wanderers provided little resistance to a dominant Holmer Green side as they eased to a 3-0 win.

Perry Dicker got the ball rolling with a fine first half header before Greg Deer and Joe Collins completed the scoring in a match Holmer could have won by a bigger margin.

Hellenic League Premier Division side Flackwell Heath moved level on points with league leaders Thatcham Town after a 3-0 win over Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Few sides have been able to match Penn & Tylers Green in the Division One East this season and it was a similar story for Sandhurst Town.

Despite being pushed hard, Casey Bocarro’s long-range effort and Chris Hurst’s penalty secured a solid 2-0 win for Penn.

Risborough Rangers’ seven game unbeaten run ground to a halt on Saturday as they lost 4-2 against a well-drilled Harpenden Town side.

Jason Costello and Lamar Mason-Williams got the goals for Rangers.

Finally, Amersham Town’s abject start to the season continued at pace after they fell to a 3-0 loss at the hands of high-flying Thame Rangers.
