Gourmet meals at The Hand and Flowers in Marlow could be prepared in a portable cabin for up to six weeks.

Tom Kerridge's gastropub on West Street – which has two Michelin stars – has applied to Wycombe District Council for permission to house a cabin in their car park while they refurbish one of their kitchens.

The temporary building, which is set to be delivered to the restaurant on October 24, will be fully kitted out with kitchen equipment including a fryer and a sink so business can continue as usual during the work.

The kitchen revamp is due to start on October 31.

Interior designers, Tibbatts Abel, say the cabin will not “detract visually” from the high-class restaurant because “it is not connected to the pub but will be positioned in the car park area near the side entrance of the pub kitchen for accessibility.”

Wycombe District Council is expected to make a decision on the application by November 4.
