More than 560 pieces of stolen jewellery, believed to be worth around £500,000 in total, have been recovered by detectives, some of which police believe may belong to victims in the Thames Valley area.

The jewellery was found on July 26 after an intelligence-led operation by the Metropolitan Police targeted a shop in Hounslow where it was being sold. It is believed that some of it could have been from burglaries as far back as 2013.

The items are mainly gold and include a number of “distinctive” complete collections of Asian wedding jewellery.

Some of the items have been returned to their rightful owners, one of which was in the Thames Valley and police say it is likely there may be more victims in the region.

They are now appealing for anyone who has had jewellery stolen to look at the pictures and call 101 if they recognise any of the pieces.

Two men, aged 29 and 66, were arrested at the shop on July 26 on suspicion of handling stolen goods and bailed to return until a date in mid-September pending further police enquiries.

A third man was arrested on suspicion of the same offence on 4 August and has also been bailed.
