A two-day Christmas market is set to take place this weekend to raise funds for charity.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People will deck the halls at their Saunderton training centre in Wycombe Road on Saturday and Sunday, and opening their doors to Christmas shoppers and dog-lovers for two days of festive fun.

Last year’s event drew crowds of more than 1,300 people and organisers say they hope to see many more this year.

Children will be invited to visit Santa in his magical grotto to collect a gift and there will be hand-crafted gifts and stocking fillers as well as mince pie and mulled punch to get families and shoppers into the festive spirit.

Melanie Preskett, national events manager for the charity, said: “This year we also have a signing choir, who will be signing our favourite Christmas tunes – you might even learn a sign or two.

“We hope to see lots of faces, old and new, at our Buckinghamshire training centre in support of a fantastic cause this weekend.”

Organisers say money raised on the day will go towards the charity work in helping more deaf people to be partnered with a hearing dog.

Tickets cost £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and children under 16 go free. Tickets can be bought at the door. The event will run from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, and 11am to 4pm on Sunday.
