Children and parents have been invited to help choose the design of a new forest themed play area in High Wycombe.

Last summer almost 500 people took part in a public consultation over Wycombe District Council's proposals to transform the Hughenden Park play area.

The results of the consultation were used to select the top three designs, and now children, parents and residents are being urged to vote for their favourite.

The design with the most votes will be turned into a play area, with work expected to begin this year.

Voting opened on Monday and will close at 11.59pm on Sunday, January 22.

The £168,000 play area will be paid for by WDC through its Facilities for Young People Capital Fund, as part of its rolling play area replacement programme.
