A nursery based in High Wycombe has received an award for “outstanding” services to the community which was celebrated at a presentation ceremony last week.
On January 13 staff at Mapledean Nursery and Children’s Centre, in Cressex Road, were presented the award by chairman of Bucks County Council, councillor Val Letheren.
The centre was recognised for its dedication and “going above and beyond” its normal work to provide an “outstanding” service to the community.
Headteacher, Sue Skinner, said she was “thrilled” to win the award: “The staff are so professional, hardworking and always put families and children first.
“It is lovely to have this recognised by the County Council.
“It was a real honour and a real surprise. I am really proud of my staff and they do an amazing job. And when we spoke to Val on the day she said they don’t give these awards out often.
“The girls that work there really are unsung heroes and everything they do is a team effort so I was absolutely delighted for them.”
