Mums around south Bucks are being invited to join mummy blogger and TV presenter Giovanna Fletcher for a “rare evening off” from mummy duties at Dr Challoner’s High School in Little Chalfont.

The celebrity mum of the year is coming to the school on Thursday, February 23, to sign copies of her new book, Happy Mum Happy Baby.

Organisers say the “positive and uplifting” book is about what it is to be a mother, and features “all things mum and baby” by the author, who has two children with McFly’s Tom Fletcher.

A Chiltern Bookshops spokesman said: “Being a mum is an incredible journey, a remarkable experience that changes how we look, how we feel, who we are. As mothers we are strong, protective, proud. We feel a love like no other.

“But being a parent can be hard too. It challenges us physically, mentally, emotionally. With so many people ready to offer ‘advice’ on the best way to parent, it can feel like you are getting it all wrong.

“This is not a book about how to have the perfect family experience – Gi would be the first to admit she is winging it just as much as the rest of us – instead it is an honest, upbeat and incredibly personal account of her own experience of having a family.”

According to organisers, the book explores what it is to be a mother today, encourages mums to be confident in themselves as a parent and celebrates how “putting a focus on being a happy and confident mum can really make for a happy baby”.

Event book vouchers cost £18, or £19 online with a £1 booking fee, and include a copy of the book. To book, go to http://chilternbookshops.co.uk/events/evening-giovanna-fletcher.
