A High Wycombe resident conducted a lone protest this lunchtime on a dangerous roundabout in Loudwater, 'standing in solidarity' with the three million EU member state citizens living in the UK against Brexit.

Phil Jones stood waving an EU flag on the junction with the A40 and Station Road, saying he was "supporting the two millions UK citizens living on the continent in support of the EU's institutions and the 28 European states including the UK."

Jones explained to the Bucks Free Press the reasons behind his protest. He said: "I have been doing this for a few weeks now and one of the Facebook groups I belong to, called Forum for EU Citizens (the3million) which is a support group for people in this country who are really worried about the situation.

"I am standing in the middle of a roundabout because it symbolises being at the centre of things where I feel we ought to be."

Jones, who has lived in the town for a year, has been across the country to show his unwavering support against Brexit.

"I have been to Stoke-on-Trent, where I had a lot of support, and I have been to Beaconsfield, Slough, Windsor and somebody has said on the group if I would come to St Albans," added Jones.

Whilst speaking to Jones on the roundabout, a few drivers aimed obscenties to him in his 14-minute stay and he explained the reason behind that obscure length of time.

He commented: "I stand for this amount of time as it is 30 seconds per member country and I usually do this in pairs making one minute for each member of the EU."

To visit the forum, go to Facebook and search for Forum for EU Citizens (the3million).

Jones' next stop will likely be St Albans as he continues his protest.
