The swimming pool at a popular Marlow leisure centre has reopened following an earlier gas leak.

Court Garden Leisure Complex, in Pound Lane, was left without a hot water supply and heating for nearly a month after a gas leak in an external pipe - forcing the swimming pool and showers to close.

Regular users of the pool had to go to Wycombe Leisure Centre instead.

However, a statement from Places for People - which runs the centre on behalf of Wycombe District Council - has confirmed that the leak has been fixed.

It says: "Court Garden Leisure Complex is pleased to be able to offer its full complement of services again, following disruption caused by an external gas leak on Thursday 19th January.

"Maintenance work carried out by the National Grid over the past four weeks has successfully restored heating and hot water throughout the building, and has enabled us to re-open the swimming pool for public use.

"The team at Court Garden Leisure Complex would like to thank its members and the public for their patience and understanding throughout a difficult period. We are delighted to be able to offer all of our services and facilities once again."

Last week, the Free Press revealed that plans are in the pipeline to give the ageing centre a revamp, with options for the improvements expected to be put to Wycombe District Council's Cabinet in March.
