A male pedestrian who suffered a serious head injury after being hit by a car was involved in three separate crashes within ten minutes in Loudwater last night. 

Thames Valley Police confirmed they were called to London Road, near to Tesco, at 8.04pm to reports of crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian, but the man was not located. 

Police were called again at 8.08pm to reports of crash but again the pedestrian was not found. 

At 8.15pm, officers were called to a third crash involving a male pedestrian and was later found at the A40 Loudwater roundabout. 

A TVP spokesman said it is believed that the same pedestrian was involved in all three crashes. 

Police called South Central Ambulance Service to the scene at 8.10pm.

SCAS sent two officers in rapid response vehicles, an ambulance and the air ambulance to the scene, which landed in a nearby field. 

Eyewitnesses also reported seeing a white Fiat Punto with a smashed windscreen. 

The 30-year-old man was taken by road ambulance to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with a paramedic from the air ambulance travelling with them. 

His injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.
