Hundreds of people flocked to West Wycombe Park at the weekend for an idyllic snowdrop walk to raise funds for a hospice charity.

Almost £2,000 was raised for South Bucks Hospice on February 19 as people strolled around the historic grounds of the West Wycombe Estate and planted snowdrops to celebrate spring.

Face painting and colouring was enjoyed by children, and youngsters who completed the walk were awarded with a medal.

Jos Robson, from South Bucks Hospice, said: "We were thrilled with the success of the day. Around 500 people turned out and enjoyed great spring weather.

“We are very grateful to those who volunteered to support us on the day and those who donated cakes and savoury treats. Also, we'd like to say a big thank you to West Wycombe Park for allowing us to hold the event at such a picturesque location.

"Most importantly, we have raised a significant amount of money to help patients with life-limiting illnesses. With only around 100 days before we move into our new community hospice, this comes as another welcome boost for our charity."

South Bucks Hospice provides palliative and end of life care for people diagnosed with life limiting or long term illness.
