Work to clear debris and fallen trees caused by Storm Doris is expected to continue into the night as Transport for Bucks deals with hundreds of phone calls.

Several Transport for Bucks (TfB) teams have had to suspend other work in a bid to deal with trees and debris blocking the county’s roads and working closely with tree surgeons, utilities companies, and police.

More than 50 fallen trees have caused disruption in the Chiltern and South Bucks areas today.

The whole workforce is dealing with removing trees and branches from the road or installing road closures.

All other work has had to be suspended this afternoon due to the “sheer volume” of wind-related incidents, with work looking likely to continue into the night.

The High Wycombe team has dealt with 22 trees in the road and suspended gully cleaning to release another crew to deal with the effects of the stormy weather.

Only one of the trees required help from local tree surgeons.

It is expected that at least two crews will continue working into this evening.
