James will join the star-studded line-up at this year’s PennFest, it has been announced today.

The rock band will join Primal Scream, The Charlatans and a whole host of other popular bands at the event this summer, which will see the picturesque village of Penn Street play host.

The ‘Big Top’ stage and Old School Warehouse are set to make a return for 2017, and tickets are now on sale for the seventh annual event, which organisers promise to be the “best ever”.

Following a sell-out event last summer, which saw a record-breaking 10,000 people enjoy the festivities, the successful music event will return in July.

Foundations singer Kate Nash will also perform at the popular two-day summer festival, which will take place on July 21 and 22 this year.

Drum and bass DJs Sigma, Maverick Sabre, EMF, Cast and Reverend, and the Makers will join the impressive line-up, along with indie rockers Pigeon Detectives.

As well as the main stage acts, a variety of up and coming bands will be performing at the yearly festival, in The Big Park, Horsemoor Lane in Penn Street.

Camping will be available on site from Friday, July 21, to Sunday, July 23, with free hot showers and a quieter family zone, as well as glamping.

As well as live music, there will be a range of bars and stalls selling food from around the world, creative workshops, a global artisan market, arts and crafts workshops, a fun fair, street entertainers and performers and a circus workshop to keep children entertained.
